ABOUT THE GUEST

Philip R. Lane is a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, serving since June 2019. Previously, he was Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, taking office in November 2015.  He was on the academic staff at Trinity College Dublin, where he remains affiliated as an honorary professor, and was assistant professor of economics and international affairs at Columbia University before returning to Dublin. Lane has also chaired the Advisory Scientific Committee and Advisory Technical Committee of the European Systemic Risk Board and was director of the International Macroeconomics and Finance Programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).
